Bambu Lab X2D Combo — dual-nozzle printing, made approachable

The X2D picks up where the X1-Carbon left off. A second nozzle takes over the messy support work, an actively heated chamber opens the door to engineering filaments, and a closed-loop servo extruder keeps surfaces clean even at full speed. This Combo package ships with AMS 2 Pro, so multi-colour printing and filament drying are ready out of the box.

Highlights

  • Dual-nozzle system — the main nozzle builds the part while the auxiliary nozzle lays down support in a different material, so supports peel off cleanly.
  • Up to 25 colours — pair both hotends with a full AMS configuration.
  • Active chamber heating up to 65 °C — heat is spread evenly, so large ABS, ASA and nylon parts come out strong and flat.
  • 300 °C hardened-steel hotend — 40 mm³/s standard flow, or 65 mm³/s with the optional high-flow hotend.
  • 1,000 mm/s and 20,000 mm/s² — with vibration compensation to keep corners sharp at speed.
  • PMSM closed-loop servo extruder — resistance and position are sampled at 20 kHz to smooth out extrusion fluctuations before they reach the surface.
  • AI monitoring across the whole filament path — a 1080p Live View camera and a toolhead camera watch for spaghetti, nozzle clumping and purge-chute jams.
  • 256 × 256 × 260 mm³ build volume — works with every current Bambu Lab 256 mm build plate.

Supports you can simply peel away

Because the auxiliary nozzle can run a dedicated support material, steep overhangs, internal channels and fabric-like folds can be fully supported and then separated without gouging the model surface.

Two materials in a single part

Rigid and flexible can share one print. Combine PLA with TPU for grips, bumpers and bags that come off the plate ready to use — and switch colours in a fraction of a second with far less purge waste.

Tool-free nozzle changes

A gear-and-trigger mechanism inside the toolhead swaps nozzles with a tap of the lever — no tools needed. Keeping the mechanism light also means less inertia and less ringing at high speed.

Dual-intake cooling

Cool air is drawn in from both the left and right sides and pushed through the chamber, so freshly extruded PLA and other low-temperature filaments set at the right moment. Overhangs stay defined and bridges stay flat.

Hot enough — and evenly hot

A 300 °C nozzle handles most engineering filaments, but the actively heated chamber is what makes layers bond consistently from edge to edge across a big plate.

Calibration that adapts

Flow Dynamics Calibration models the whole extrusion system rather than relying on a single fixed factor, compensating for nozzle wear, residue and slightly damp filament so results repeat.

31 sensors watching every stage

Feeding, printing, thermal behaviour and machine safety are all monitored in real time, including door state, filament run-out, filament tangle and power-loss recovery.

Clean air, ready for shared spaces

Three-stage filtration — a G3 pre-filter, an H12 HEPA element and coconut-shell activated carbon — reduces odour and airborne particles. The X2D is UL 2904 certified for indoor air quality with Bambu PLA Basic and PETG Basic, and typically runs under 50 dB.

AMS 2 Pro included

The Combo adds AMS 2 Pro: four-slot automatic material handling with vented filament drying and a faster PMSM feed motor. Expand later to as many as four AMS 2 Pro plus eight AMS HT units.

よくある質問 · FAQ

よくある質問

What is the build volume of the Bambu Lab X2D?+

256 × 256 × 260 mm³ when printing with the main nozzle, and 235.5 × 256 × 256 mm³ in auxiliary-nozzle or dual-nozzle mode.

How is the X2D different from the X1-Carbon?+

The X2D adds a dual-nozzle system, an actively heated chamber up to 65 °C, a closed-loop PMSM servo extruder with real-time flow sensing, filament tangle detection and a second camera on the toolhead for wider AI monitoring.

What does the Combo package include?+

The X2D printer, AMS 2 Pro, a Textured PEI build plate, the external exhaust fan bundle, an accessory box and a spool holder.

How many colours can the X2D print?+

Up to 25 colours when both hotends are combined with a maximum AMS configuration. A single hotend supports up to four AMS 2 Pro plus eight AMS HT units — 12 units and 24 slots in total.

Can the X2D print engineering filaments?+

Yes. The 300 °C hardened-steel hotend and the 65 °C actively heated chamber cover ABS, ASA, PA, PC, PET and carbon- or glass-fibre reinforced grades. Fibre-filled filaments are best run through the main nozzle.

What is the advantage of the second nozzle?+

The auxiliary nozzle can run a dedicated support material, so supports separate cleanly from the model. It also allows two materials — such as PLA and TPU — in one part and much faster colour changes with less purge waste.

Which build plates fit the X2D?+

All current Bambu Lab 256 mm × 256 mm plates, including Textured PEI, Smooth PEI, Cool Plate SuperTack and the Engineering Plate. First-generation plates are not auto-detected.

Is the X2D suitable for use at home or in an office?+

Yes. Three-stage filtration (G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA and coconut-shell activated carbon) reduces odour and particles, noise typically stays under 50 dB, and the printer is UL 2904 certified for indoor air quality with Bambu PLA Basic and PETG Basic.
