Bambu Lab's 2026 School Ambassadors Are Changing How Students Learn 3D Printing

50 student ambassadors across North America are running workshops, maker fairs, and community demos to bring 3D printing education to life.

A New Generation of 3D Printing Educators

Bambu Lab has introduced the first cohort of its 2026 School Ambassador Program — 50 students selected from nearly 400 applicants to champion 3D printing in their schools and communities across North America. Ranging from eighth graders to PhD candidates, the ambassadors span 11 U.S. states and three Canadian cities.

Big Impact in a Short Time

Since the program launched in May 2026, ambassadors have already hosted 41 events reaching more than 30,000 students, teachers, and community members. Events have included library demonstrations, hospital visits, high school lab sessions, and appearances at maker fairs. More than half of these activities were directly education-focused.

Student Stories Worth Knowing

  • Neo Chan (Vancouver, BC) created Medi Pals — miniature 3D-printed medical device models attached to stuffed animals — with over 9,000 delivered to hospitals and clinics across Canada. He is now launching a school club called Impact 3D Print Lab.
  • Daniel Mirell (Florida) will represent the program at the Orlando Maker Faire this November, showcasing what a home 3D printer can really do.
  • Rohan Amin (Georgia) got hooked through robotics and CAD, and believes students should not have to wait until college to explore 3D printing.
  • Rafael Cantu built a Rapid Prototyping Lab at his high school, complete with a summer printing service for fellow students' research projects.

What Each Ambassador Receives

The program runs through May 2027. Each ambassador is equipped with a Bambu Lab printer, filament, and program materials, and is matched with regional partners for ongoing support. Ambassadors can advance program levels based on participation and event success.

Why It Matters for STEM Education

The initiative reflects a growing push to put hands-on fabrication tools directly into students' hands — not as a reward for advanced study, but as a starting point. With 3D printing becoming increasingly accessible, programs like this help normalize maker skills at every level of schooling.
