Formlabs launches Flexible 80A Resin V2 for Form 4 Series printers, delivering 4× rebound and 2× tear strength over the previous generation.
A New Standard for 3D-Printed Elastomers
Formlabs has released Flexible 80A Resin V2, a single-part elastomeric SLA material engineered to match the look, feel, and mechanical performance of 80A cast urethanes, TPUs, and hard rubbers — without the complexity of two-part systems or mold-casting workflows.
Dramatically Improved Mechanical Properties
Compared with the previous Flexible 80A Resin V1.1, the new formulation delivers 4× higher pendulum rebound (56%), 2× higher tear strength (28 kN/m), and 2× higher elongation at break (230%). Parts also survive 5× more Ross Flex fatigue cycles, making them far better suited to connectors, fixtures, and covers that see repeated stress.
Tack-Free Finish and Long-Term Aging Resistance
Flexible 80A Resin V2 cures to a matte black, tack-free surface that closely resembles a cast urethane part. Accelerated UV aging tests conducted per ASTM D4459 showed the material retaining 87% of its elongation at break after 1,000 hours — a meaningful improvement in long-term durability.
Ideal Applications
- Functional prototypes and end-use parts subject to bending, tension, or compression
- Soft inserts, jigs, and fixtures protecting sensitive components
- Grips, padding, seals, gaskets, and bumper enclosures requiring a rubber-like feel
Form 4 Series Compatibility
Flexible 80A Resin V2 is formulated specifically for the Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, and Form 4BL SLA printers. Note that Flexible 80A Resin V1 for Form 4 generation printers will be discontinued; V1 remains available for Form 3 Series users in the interim.
