Ultimaker Adhesion Sheet Assembly for S5 — a film applied to the glass build plate so the first layer of a print grips properly. It replaces the glue stick you would otherwise reapply before every job.
Made for the Ultimaker S5, cut to that machine’s build plate, so there is nothing to trim and no overhanging edge for the nozzle to catch.
The most common failure in FDM printing is a first layer letting go mid-print, which costs the whole part and all the hours in it. A sheet gives a more even surface than glue applied by hand, which is always thicker in some places than others, and parts release more easily once the plate has cooled.
A sheet survives many prints. Replace it when the surface picks up deep scoring, when air bubbles form underneath, or when first layers stop sticking the way they used to — that last one is the usual sign the surface is spent.
