PAF10 Volcanic Gray is the flexible, PVC-like production resin for people who are tired of snapping spears off miniatures. It is durable and bends under load instead of shattering, ages well, and prints a smooth surface where layer lines are simply not visible. The volcanic grey tone is a natural mid-grey that takes primer beautifully.

Because standard resins are stiff and brittle. PAF10 is PVC-like and flexible, so slender parts — spears, antennae, wings, thin fins — bend instead of snapping. It also has strong anti-aging behaviour, so a painted display piece does not slowly become fragile.
Same PAF10 family and the same flexible, break-resistant character, different job. Volcanic Gray is the opaque grey for figurines and miniatures with a smooth, layer-line-free surface. Clear is the transparent version and was the first clear resin supported on the RS series.
Wash in 95% IPA — about 2 minutes rough wash plus 1 minute fine wash in an UltraCraft Wash at 180 r/min — then dry-cure for roughly 30 minutes in an UltraCraft Cure. Short, even curing keeps fine detail from going chalky.
Keep the bottle closed, upright, dark and dry at room temperature, and shake it well before every pour because the pigment settles. Unopened bottles keep for about 12 months from the production date on the label. Liquid resin irritates skin, so wear nitrile gloves and eye protection and work in a ventilated space. Fully cured parts are safe to handle.
Resin is a light-sensitive liquid that an LCD/MSLA or SLA printer cures layer by layer with 405 nm light. It gives far finer detail and smoother surfaces than filament, which is why it is the standard for figures, jewellery and dental work.
Standard resin suits models and figures; ABS-like resin is tougher for functional parts; water-washable resin is the convenient choice at home; flexible, high-temperature, castable and dental lines are specialist materials chosen per job.
Use a resin printer whose screen size and resolution match the part — ELEGOO Mars and Saturn series for general work, Formlabs or HeyGears professional machines for dental and engineering parts. Take exposure settings from the printer's profile for the resin brand.
Wear nitrile gloves and work with ventilation. Wash parts in IPA or water as the resin type requires, then cure fully under UV. Store resin in its opaque bottle away from sunlight and heat.
